Who Are the Friends of the Sayreville Public Library?

The Friends of the Sayreville Public Library were founded in 1999. Our mission is to promote philanthropy and advocate education through service to the Sayreville Free Public Library and its community by offering financial and programming support.

Funds are raised throughout the year with various fundraisers, which includes our successful book sale. The Friends active patronage focuses on Library enrichment programs in the Sayreville school system and occasional adult curriculum. We also generously contribute funds to the library for the purchase of new materials.

If you are interested in joining, membership forms can be picked up at the library or online at the Sayreville Free Public Library website. Annual dues are $5.00.

The Friends of the Sayreville Public Library has THREE books sales throughout the year. Our book sales are held in the library conference room. They are every January, June and October. Customers can fill a bag for $10 or a box for $15! (Must use bags/boxes provided by the Friends)

The books we sell come from generous donations from the public, as well as some library discards. Proceeds from sales are given to the Sayreville Public Library to fund the children's summer reading program, library programs and workshops, and purchases not covered within the annual budget. Your donations and purchases help aid us in our quest to provide the citizens of Sayreville with outstanding public service.

Adopt A Book

Buy a book to celebrate an important event in someone's life-a birth, graduation, birthday, retirement or anything else you can think of. Also, you can buy a book to memorialize a loved one who has passed away.

Each children’s book costs $20 while an adult book costs $30.

All books will have a bookplate with the name of the donor as well as the person being honored/remembered. A card will be sent to the family of those being memorialized to let them know of the donor’s purchase for the library.

Membership dues can now be paid online with

PayPal

Monthly meetings are at 10am in the Sayreville Public Library conference room, unless otherwise noted.

Members receive a link prior to each meeting with past minutes, agenda & treasurer's report.

The Friends are always off for the Summer and will return with regular meetings in September.
